These recently appeared on a PSYTEACH listserv. Thanks to Mike Siegel for
passing them to us.

Ten Simples Rules for Students When Starting a New Class

1. Show up
2. Show up on time
3. Look attentive and participate
4. Turn your cell phones off
5. Do not speak in an evil tongue
(no cursing at all)
6. Do not speak with a long tongue
(speaking in class should never disrupt
the lecture/discussion)
7. Stay seated unless you see smoke
(do not pack up with a minute left in class!)
8. Ask me for help
9. Chew softly and quietly
(students are allowed to have edibles if
they can be quiet)
10. Have fun
