-that the directory on the college website has ALL professors e-mail
addresses
-that every paper they do should be saved- maybe even to floppy- a prof
WILL loose one and they will be very glad they saved a copy!
-that spell check has homophonic limitations- do you here me?
-that they can check their current print quota balance online
-that they can save work in a way that makes it accessible from all
campus computers
-that there is wireless in certain buildings (and where)

I guess the "orientation" could be a week well spent as much as an hour
well spent!

Subject: Freshman Orientation to Technology

Tbers,

I was recently asked to do a technology orientation for our incoming EOP
students. This got me to thinking about what our incoming students need
to
know. Here is my list. Comments?

Orientation to Blackboard
Where the computer labs for students are located and their hours
What is Print Quota and how much do they have (how to get more)
The student Computer Help Desk... where it is and what they do
Turnitin authentication paper checking service

What else do you think they should know about?
