The demonstration will take place in Hunt Union at the far end of the common room in front of Starbucks at the fireplace and TV. We will be using the TV for projecting Dr. Bennett's computer screen. The presentation will begin at approximately 8:15AM.

We will try to bring a few extra devices so that participants can experience these tools in different manners.

I look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!

Chilton

Tech Tool Demonstrations

On Nov 28, Jacqueline Bennett will be demonstrating the use of some different tech tools she has been using in her classes, including QR Codes, Evernote, Google Docs, and phones as student clickers. This is a hands-on presentation, so bring your own device (smart phone, tablet, or laptop) to interact with these tools during the demonstration.

For those that are interested, here are links to download and interact with the required software for these tools:

1. QR Codes (for any internet enabled device with a camera) to quickly link 2D barcodes to online content such as instructional videos:

a. Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=uk.tapmedia.qrreader&hl=en

b. iPhone/iPad: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/qr-reader-for-iphone/id368494609?mt=8

2. Evernote (any internet enabled device) to create photo and text notes that sync across devices: http://evernote.com/evernote/index.php?file=Win&btn=grey

3. Google Docs and Forms (any internet enabled device) to use forms to collect class data and then analyze these data in spreadsheets: http://docs.google.com

4. Phones as Student Clickers (for any internet enabled device) and creation of clicker questions that go beyond multiple choice:

a. Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.turningTech.Responseware&hl=en

b. iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/responseware/id300028504?mt=8
