Ali Jafari - Indiana University-Purdue-University Indianapolis: JAFARI is a professor of Computer and Information Technology, Adjunct Professor of Informatics, and Director of the CyberLab at IUPUI. His research focuses on smart learning environments and intelligent agents both from conceptual and architectural perspectives. He is currently working on the Next Generation of Course Management System (NGCMS) research project and the Epsilen Environment being developed at the CyberLab.

John Ittelson - California State University Monterey Bay: ITTELSON is a Professor in the School of Information Technology and Communications Design and Director of the Interactive Design and Educational Applications Lab (The I.D.E.A. Lab) at California State University, Monterey Bay. One of the founding faculty at CSUMB, John was also one of two EDUCAUSE National Learning Infrastructure (NLII) fellows in 2001, an appointment that allowed him to travel across the country to work with educators on e-learning ventures. John currently serves as the Principal Investigator for the MarcoPolo Project, an organization that focuses on bringing high quality, standards-based Internet content to K-12 classrooms. He is also working with the CSU Chancellor’s Office as the liaison to the CA K-12 High Speed Network and is involved in the ePortfolio movement and in encouraging the CSUs to become more active in implementing ePortfolios.

John’s research paper, “An Over-view of ePortfolios,” co-authored with George Lorenzo, was one of the top downloads from the EDUCAUSE Web site during 2005. Dr. Ittelson has been selected as an Apple Distinguished Educator for the past five years and is actively involved in the building of Apple’s Campus Digital Exchange, an online community focusing on technology in higher education. Dr. Ittelson serves on the Boards of the CSU Virtual Language Lab project and Access Monterey Peninsula Cable Consortium and on the Program Committee for The Digital Stream Conference.

Dr. Ittelson received a Bachelor’s degree in Radio-Television-Film, a Master’s Degree in Instructional Television, and a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Instructional Design from Northwestern University.

Glenn Johnson - Penn State University: JOHNSON currently serves as instructional designer and project manager for Penn State's e-Portfolio Initiative, a university-wide initiative that was launched in the Spring of 2002. While administratively he is housed in the College of Earth and Mineral Science's e-Education Institute, his position is currently funded in part by both Information Technology Services and the Division of Student Affairs. In this position, Glenn works to identify and collaboratively support faculty, students and staff who have expressed interest in student e-Portfolios for the purposes of helping students use their Penn State Personal Web Space to plan, reflect upon and publish what they have learned at Penn State.

Mary Hallett - Monroe Community College: HALLETT is a Training/Instructional Development Specialist at Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY. Her professional responsibilities include supporting 100+ faculty in the development of hybrid and web-enhanced courses, supporting SUNY with their home-grown CMS, and managing new initiatives like open source and ePortfolios. After conducting extensive research, attending the OSPI Conference last year, and implementing ePortfolio pilots this year, I greatly look forward to this year’s conference and the future of open source locally, nationally and world-wide.

Eric Feinblatt - Fashion Institute of Technology: FEINBLATT has been the Coordinator of FIT's Center for Excellence in Teaching since its origins in 2001. He is responsible for instructional development at the College where he works closely with other faculty members to develop, use and assess effective instructional and curricular strategies to improve student learning. Since his arrival at the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1997, Professor Feinblatt has been an advisor to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and the Deans of the Schools of Business and Technology and Art and Design, helping them to formulate and initiate programs that leverage technology's potential to enhance FIT's educational mission.

Eric is a frequent presenter at educational conferences, most recently as a panelist at the Small Tools/Big Ideas conference at FIT, the 2005 SUNY-wide Conference on Instructional Technologies where he spoke on the "Classroom Without Walls" and the "Image Library as Learning Environment," and at the 2005 CUNY/Baruch College Technology Conference where he gave a talk entitled "Visual Literacy: Preparing Faculty to Think about Thinking about Images."

Prior to coming to FIT, Professor Feinblatt launched the Photography specialization in the Extended Studies Program at the Cooper Union in New York City. He continues to teach undergraduate and graduate classes at FIT, including a graduate course in ePortfolio development, and is a member of the SUNY FACT (Faculty Access to Computer Technology) Advisory Council.
