Hi, all!

I suspect that all of us have at least received and, ideally, have also had the opportunity to read the SUNY Faculty Development Task Force Recommendations and the Implementation Plan developed by the Provost's Faculty Development Advisory Committee.

At the same time, though, there really has been no discussion so far on this list about any of the elements of the recommendations or the implementation plan for them, including the 2007 conference.

I have had some serious concerns about them and I wanted to share them with you as a way, hopefully, to generate the sort of dialogue, discussion, and debate I think they warrant.  An effort to detail those concerns is attached.

This is an enormously hopeful time for faculty development within SUNY, but only so if we can take advantage of it.

Let's read the basic documents.  Let's reflect on them and let's talk about them openly and honestly here!

Thanks!

Dick Reddy
Director, Office of Faculty Development
