Tbers, I am usually very reluctant to post "event announcements" to this list - as we all get enough of that everyday in everyway. This one, however, seem to be consistent with the Teaching Breakfast's philosophy. The following is a snip from an email recently sent to me by Patti Hanley, Director of the College Assistance Migrant Program. I thought some of you might enjoy such and event.... so I'm posting this to the TB list. ****snip starts here **** In the past Dining Services has partnered with the Student Development staff to put on a "midnight breakfast" for the students the evening prior to the first day of finals. I know that on some level it seems silly to encourage students to stay up late the day before finals, but the reality is that they are already up, and rather than having all of them order pizza at midnight, we serve them breakfast and wish them good speed. The reason I am writing to you is that I would like to open this event up to the faculty. It's really fun and the students very much enjoy it. In December I think that there almost 600 students served breakfast between midnight and 1:00 a.m. My feeling is that it doesn't have to be just a student development thing, but could be a joint effort and the students would love to see a few of their professors on the line. **** end snip ***** To watch a video about last year's Midnight Breakfast visit the link: http://employees.oneonta.edu/greenbjb/midnightbreakfast.html Mr. James B.
