Thank you for sharing this article. It makes several important points and I hope we'll discuss them at a meeting of the TB.
The author has done a great service, in my opinion, at including underpaid faculty and low-income populations among the list of "diverse populations."
We have a political system that protects persons of wealth, and with the costs of education rising, it's not surprising that our educational system is disproportionately serving the children of wealth. At state universities, we have a chance, I hope, to improve that situation a bit, but we are hampered by lack of support from the politicians who evidently find education to be low on their list or priorities.
If we DO discuss this idea at a TB, I hope we'll try to find something specific we can do to improve the problems described by the author of this article.
