Somewhat to my surprise, a number of you actually read the links that I forwarded before the last Teaching Breakfast?  Thank you, but as the famous conductor once said, "Never look at the trombones, it only encourages them."  Here is another post that some of you might like to discuss:

 

 

Rather than having the discussion focus on what a bad thing this is (i.e. please refrain from bringing dead horses to the discussion), I would suggest that we discuss what new strategies we might use to teach students who have learned from experience that education consists only of filling in little boxes.
