For new faculty orientation last fall we put together a few links on how to make good use of the first day of class. I found them useful, some of you might as well. 

Another resource that we heard about at a faculty development workshop run by Jim Lang was Stephen Chew’s video series on how to study. The videos are well done and there is also a nice teaching resource guide that goes along with them that can also be found at the site. Jim’s slides are here.
