Dear Jim, et al: I’ve been too busy to attend the teaching breakfasts this semester, but am cheered to hear of Jim’s anecdotal observations. There is hope—thank god! The catch is, they don't read physical books as much as the read ebooks and other articles in electronic spaces. I consider them much better readers then when I was a young man. Given this, I'm not sure the death of reading can be attributed to the demise of the physical book. I think something else is going on - not sure what.
