Hello all!

I hope you are all well and staying sane in these extraordinary times. In an effort to have some consistency and normalcy (at least a little bit!) the TLTC and Faculty Center are holding Teaching Breakfasts Online every Thursday morning throughout the semester as a place to come together online to talk about the new modalities you are using to teach and hopefully share and get a few answers. Each Thursday we will meet online in our Teaching Breakfast Teams space from 8:30-10:00am. If you are free at all during this time, please feel free to join the conversation.

Teaching Breakfast Online is tomorrow, Thursday, January 21, from 8:30 - 10:00am. We will be connecting here: Join the Teaching Breakfast Online Teams Meeting<https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_N2JlMDE2YjEtZWJiMy00OTdmLWI3OWQtNDkzM2Q4MjJiYzAx%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%22b2c9b1a8-d1ad-4c9f-9172-728a8c08eb65%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%22acdbd4c6-8ceb-4ccb-b54d-35c4ab20321f%22%7d>

Our theme for this week will be "Preparing for the Upcoming Semester." Here is an article that explores ways to create emotional engagement in online learning spaces: Creating Emotional Engagement in Online Learning<https://er.educause.edu/blogs/2020/8/creating-emotional-engagement-in-online-learning?utm_source=Selligent&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=er_content_alert_newsletter&utm_content=09-09-2020&utm_term=Creating+Emotional+Engagement+in+Online+Learning_&m_i=owCLW7JSHq_99HvlKUs1U_WtFPVgPSR78HlxFY1_wQ7iKFQlZMBgsiNCjf5sKRzyZ7RpmeHssVVy5O0OzPFbrmuZazSctbCooM&M_BT=13737774659>
As we are working on preparing for the semester, the article has some easy suggestions for things to remember to keep our students front and center.

We look forward to talking more about your ideas from the upcoming semester. Look forward to seeing you Thursday if you can make it!
