Hello all!

I hope that the semester is continuing to go well and that you are able to have lots of meaningful learning experiences with your students. We are continuing to expand the Teaching Breakfast/Coffee Chat conversations by alternating weekly between the two options: Coffee Chat on Wednesday afternoons and Teaching Breakfast on Thursday mornings. We will continue to meet both in person and virtually, so if you feel comfortable participating in person, come on down; if you would rather meet via Teams, hop on your computer! These spaces will continue to be a place to come together to talk about new modalities you might be using to teach and hopefully share and get a few answers. This week we will be holding our Teaching Breakfast:

  * Teaching Breakfast, Thursday morning, December 1, 8:30-10:00am: Butternut Room, Hunt Union (just past Starbucks) and on the Fall 2022 Teaching Breakfast Teams space<https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_MTc0NWVhNDAtNzY3OC00NWYwLWI1NDgtZDZiODNmNTI2ZjM0%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%22b2c9b1a8-d1ad-4c9f-9172-728a8c08eb65%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%22acdbd4c6-8ceb-4ccb-b54d-35c4ab20321f%22%7d>.

Our reading for this week explores the idea of Exam Wrappers to help students prepare for exams.

  1. Cognitive Wrappers (Templates and Resources)<https://teachingnaked.com/cognitive-wrappers/> - The attached article from José Antonio Bowen, the author of Teaching Naked, introduces the idea of exam wrappers as extra activities scheduled around your exam to help your students think about how they prepare for exams and what learning is occurring. This article includes a lot of great resources including editable templates and video to explain the concept. With the end of the semester closing in, this can be a great resource to share with students as the prepare for final exams.

I look forward to talking with you about activities you might embed around your exams to help students focus on what they are taking away from the content. We hope to see you on Thursday morning for Teaching Breakfast (December 1) if you can make it!
