Actually, as far as I know, the information released is still classified information.  Going to that site is knowingly accessing classified information- whatever the fairness,  perspective employees (at DoS) will be partly assessed on their ability to respect classified information...so now they either have to lie OR tell the truth and hope that everyone at State was on the same page about THE LATTER release you linked, and not the former (which was also someone's firm opinion).  The hiring process is very competitive and thorough (30 page applications); not a lot slips through.  Great topic by the way.

TBers,

I mean to include a discussion about WikiLeaks in my New Media class next semester.  This means, I think, I will want the students to actually go to the site (or some mirror of it) and read some of what is there.  Given all that I've read about this, this seems perfectly fine and appropriate.  Anyone know anything that should give me pause about doing this?
