Subject: Reminder of next Teaching Breakfast (Feb. 9)

TBers,

This is a reminder that there is a Teaching Breakfast tomorrow (February 9) at 8 am outside Starbucks. Hope to see you then.

Here's an interesting article about ideas for promoting active learning in the classroom: https://distance.fsu.edu/docs/instruction_at_fsu/Chptr8.pdf

This is chapter 8 from FSU's Guide to Teaching and Learning Practices.

Here's the definition of active learning from the chapter: Active learning involves providing opportunities for students to meaningfully talk and listen, write, read, and reflect on the content, ideas, issues, and concerns of an academic subject.

There are a lot of great suggestions in the chapter of ways you can stimulate active learning for your entire class. Come share some ways you engage your students in the classroom.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow if possible!
