Hi Everyone,
In response to Hilton and Chris, the Faculty Development Implementation
Plan, the Faculty Development Task Force Report, and the membership of
the Faculty Development Council are now available on the Provost's
Website at http://www.suny.edu/provost/facultydevelopment.cfm
<http://www.suny.edu/provost/facultydevelopment.cfm>
<http://www.suny.edu/provost/facultydevelopment.cfm> . I am attaching
copies to this email in case you haven't already received them.
Among other things, notice the action item that "The Faculty Development
Council will organize a conference to be held in 2007. See Appendix D
for conference agenda suggestions." We are thinking about February or
March for this SUNY-wide conference, and Denise Bukovan and I have been
working on a grant to provide partial funding for it.
I was talking to Kimberley Reiser today, and we thought that it might be
good to involve the organizers of the regional faculty development
meetings in the organization of the State-wide conference. What do you
think? Would those organizers please identify themselves so we can see
which regions are holding meetings, which colleges are participating in
the meetings, and who is bringing them together.
This listserv is really helpful.
Fred

Everyone must be swamped with beginning of the semester activities!
To respond to Hilton's request, I thought the meeting at Westchester CC
went great. April is a good a time a year as any. As far as our agenda,
I think we should schedule all of the time for networking and strategic
planning. The presentation on strengthsquest was interesting but I
would rather have talked with all of you more. Any thoughts from the
rest of the group? And I can help out with whatever you need Hilton,
just let me know.
Cheers,
Chris

Hello everyone!
I hope you've had a good summer and that you're refreshed and ready for
fall.
Last spring, at the end of our gathering at Westchester Community
College, I offered Binghamton University as a possible site for another
gathering this coming year. I'd like to begin discussions of that, and
pose these questions for all of us to respond to:
. What theme or programming would be valuable and interesting?
. Are there efforts from SUNY Administration we should know more
about?
. Should there be any changes to format and timing (or follow last
April's overall structure again)?
I'm sure there are other topics that we should discuss. I hope there
will be lots of input as the 2007 conference takes shape - let's make
this a collaborative creation, as much as possible.
Our office here in Binghamton can handle logistics related to campus
meeting spaces, catering, etc. But I'd also like to hear from anyone
who can help with other organizing details.
Thanks!
